HELP Swiftsure Go “Clean”!
Sailors for the Sea is a nonprofit organization that educates and empowers the boating community to protect and restore our oceans and coastal waters, and their Clean Regattas program is their effort, in conjunction with yacht clubs, and sailing programs and events, to reduce our impact on our oceans and coastal waters. The Royal Victoria Yacht Club and Swiftsure have pledged to help this cause, and we hope our racers will, too!

Marine life and vital coastal habitats are straining under the increasing pressure of global use. The ocean, which was once considered inexhaustible and resilient, is, in fact, finite and fragile; and, we the boating community members can help lead the way to protect and restore our oceans and coastal waters. The boating community has a profound passion for, and understanding of, the world's seas, and Sailors for the Sea was founded to galvanize the sailing and boating community around ocean health issues.

Check out the “Racers” section of this web page (www.swiftsure.org) for the Boat and Skipper Clean Regattas Pledge sheet, a list of green boating products and services, and the list of required disposal information, and then look for the appropriate disposal containers in your Skipper’s Package and on Ship Point. Please be prepared to sign your pledge as you check in at the Swiftsure Registration Tent on Ship Point, where you can find out still more information.

We’re striving for Bronze Certification, and we can’t make it without your help! By joining together in this challenge, we can help pass on a healthy ocean for the next generation of racers ... and beyond! Thanks for your help!
